SysOps / SysAdmin (DevOps Growth Path)

About the role

We're two software-led businesses in the automotive sector - one B2C and one B2B. Both are part of a major European automotive group and are bringing their operations closer together, creating this new dedicated SysOps role.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on role with a clear, structured path into DevOps. No cloud or infrastructure experience needed on day one — our client wants someone with the right attitude, a service mindset, and genuine ambition to grow.

What you'll own

  • User lifecycle — onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, and access control
  • Device management — laptop setup, MDM enrolment, and fleet security
  • IT support — first point of contact for requests and incidents
  • SaaS tooling and vendors — managing tools, licences, relationships, and spend
  • Backups — running, verifying, and documenting recovery procedures
  • Onboarding training — delivering tool and systems training for new joiners
  • Data compliance — GDPR subject access requests and retention policy support

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Nice to have

  • Experience using AI tools to work smarter (docs, scripting, support triage)
  • Any exposure to cloud platforms, containers, or CI/CD pipelines

The growth path

The role starts with full SysOps ownership. From there, structured exposure to DevOps follows: shadowing on cloud infrastructure, small Terraform and GitHub Actions tasks, and eventually joining the on-call rotation. The goal is a hybrid SysOps/DevOps engineer — a path their outgoing colleague successfully took.
