About the Role

At SES Water, data plays a vital role in helping us deliver excellent service to our customers and drive informed business decisions.

We are looking for a Systems Analyst to join our team, supporting the management, development and optimisation of our reporting and systems environment. You will utilise multiple data sources, our data warehouse and Power BI platform to deliver insightful reporting, analytics and performance management information across Supply, Metering and Business Markets.

Alongside data analytics, you will provide technical and administrative support for business systems, ensuring users receive excellent service and systems remain effective, reliable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analytics

  • Design, develop and deliver reporting solutions and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Produce meaningful management information and analysis for stakeholders up to Director level.
  • Build and maintain datasets to support operational and strategic business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain directorate dashboards and reporting plans.
  • Provide detailed data analysis to support business requirements and investigations.
  • Gather, interpret and document user reporting requirements.
  • Ensure reports and dashboards are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Support the ongoing development and optimisation of the company data warehouse.

Systems Management

  • Provide first-line support for designated business systems.
  • Manage user access, permissions and system administration activities.
  • Deliver training and guidance to system and report users.
  • Act as a key point of contact for third-party software suppliers and support providers.
  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, testing and implementation activities.
  • Support the maintenance of system documentation and user guides.

About You

You will be a motivated and analytical professional with experience of working in a data-driven environment. You will be comfortable translating business requirements into meaningful reporting and system solutions and be confident working with stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Experience in a data analytics, systems analyst or similar role.
  • Experience designing, building and testing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and data relationships.
  • Experience gathering and interpreting business requirements.
  • Understanding of data warehouse principles and design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to deliver user training and support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of SQL Server.
  • Experience working with field job management systems.
  • Understanding of mobile data solutions.
  • Experience with statistical forecasting techniques.
  • Knowledge of the water or utilities sector.
