Systems Engineer | Defence & Simulation | Hybrid | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits

Shape the Future of UK Defence Training

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a major UK Defence programme that's transforming how the British Army trains for the future. You'll play a key role in developing next-generation simulation and training systems that support mission readiness and operational success.

This is your chance to work on a programme of national importance, collaborating with leading Defence organisations and technical experts to deliver secure, scalable, and highly integrated solutions.

The Opportunity

As a Systems Engineer, you'll support the definition, integration and implementation of complex system architectures across advanced Defence training and simulation platforms.

Working alongside Enterprise Architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll help deliver secure, interoperable systems that support everything from data integration and configuration management through to system verification, validation and lifecycle support.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Design and integrate complex Defence systems from concept through delivery.
  • Develop system architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Work across secure, mission-critical environments with a strong Secure-by-Design approach.
  • Support system integration, verification, validation and acceptance activities.
  • Contribute to the migration and integration of legacy data into modern Defence environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, military stakeholders and industry partners to influence the future of Defence training technology.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
