System Engineer for Data Centre M&A team

Do you want to be an integral part of DFDS’s Data Centre M&A team where we integrate external companies? This position offers the opportunity to join a team of skilled professionals and gain valuable experience working with a variety of technologies while contributing to exciting integration projects.

About the role

As our new System Engineer, you will deploy, configure, and support server and infrastructure platforms across the DFDS on-premise virtualization estate. You will assess and integrate acquired IT environments, migrate users, applications, and data to standardized DFDS platforms, and support the ongoing integration, optimization, and retirement of legacy infrastructure services. You will work with Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory, Entra, M365 and business applications.

The main responsibilities will include to:

  • Support Active Directory trusts, EntraID integration, and user access across hybrid environments.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and licensing.
  • Support the migration of Windows-based applications to the DFDS environment.
  • Contribute to the analysis and planning for the integration or migration of other platforms such as Linux and other business systems.

The position is expected to involve some travel days, approximately 10 days per year.

About you

We are looking for you to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, on-premises infrastructure, and Microsoft cloud services.

You are comfortable working across complex hybrid environments, including multiple Active Directory domains, forests, and Microsoft tenants, while taking a hands-on, generalist approach to supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms.

Additionally, the ideal candidate brings:

  • Experience using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
  • Experience working with VMWare, Hyper-V, and M365 Services.
  • Functional understanding of networks, firewalls, and routing.
  • Linux knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and a technical focus.
  • A “can-do” attitude; showing responsibility, being initiative, and taking pride in their deliveries.
