Role of a Systems Engineer
Systems Engineers play a critical role in the conception, feasibility, design, development and implementation, and sustainment of complex systems, that integrate multiple elements and technologies. As a Systems Engineer, you will support engineering activities across the full system lifecycle, assisting with problem investigation, testing and commissioning, technical documentation, and project delivery activities. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of ATM systems while developing your technical knowledge and taking on increasing responsibility as your skills grow.
This opportunity is well-suited to individuals early in their careers who are looking to upskill, retrain, or transition into a Systems Engineering role. It is also an opportunity for those who can bring transferable experience from other technical or engineering disciplines and who demonstrate adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and a systems-thinking mindset.

We are looking for individuals who:
- Hold an HNC (Level 4 or SQF Level 7) in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent engineering experience
- Have experience in an engineering, technical, or safety-critical environment
- Work collaboratively and contribute positively within a team
- Apply a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving
- Can communicate technical information clearly and confidently
- Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Can prioritise tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Are eligible and willing to undergo security clearance
Location: This is a Whiteley based role with regular travel to operational sites across the UK, including extended periods of onsite working when required.
