Systems Engineer (Defence)
Location: Stevenage or Bristol
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 4 days per week onsite
An exciting opportunity has become available for Senior Systems Engineers to join a dynamic programme team within the Defence sector, working on an ambitious and pioneering Future Combat Air Programme.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside talented engineers and contribute to the development of next-generation combat air systems, playing a key role in advancing weapon integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
The opportunity:
- Support the delivery of key System of Systems concepting activities across a complex and pioneering programme
- Lead and support requirements elicitation and decomposition, ensuring system needs are clearly understood and translated into effective requirements
- Contribute to architectural processes using Model Based Engineering tools
- Work collaboratively with design teams to define and communicate the overall system concept, design trades, fundamental principles and constraints

What we're looking for from you:
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to develop and communicate new concepts and architectures
- Experience or understanding of requirements engineering, including requirements elicitation and decomposition
- Understanding of systems architecture and the principles that drive system design
- Ability to understand and communicate the needs and requirements that underpin complex system solutions
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams and supporting cross-functional analysis

Desirable experience:
- Experience working with Model Based Engineering / Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
- Experience within the Defence, Aerospace or Combat Air sectors
- Experience working on complex System of Systems programmes
- Knowledge of weapon systems, weapon integration or Weapon Effects Management
