Location: Cromwell Hospital, Kensington, London SW5 0TU

Position Type: Permanent | Full Time | 37.5 Hours per Week

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 5 x 7.5 Hour Shifts

Salary: from £56,005 per annum

About Us

At Cromwell Hospital, we're committed to delivering exceptional cancer care through clinical excellence, innovation, and a truly patient-centred approach.

About the Role

As our SACT Specialist Nurse, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering specialist oncology services, ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout their treatment journey.

This is a highly autonomous advanced practice role, offering the opportunity to work across our Oncology Ward and Chemotherapy Day Unit, supporting patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). You'll work alongside consultants, pharmacists, nursing teams, and the wider multidisciplinary team to drive clinical excellence while improving patient outcomes and experience.

Responsibilities

As our SACT Specialist Nurse, you'll be the clinical expert supporting the safe delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments and advanced oncology care.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients commencing SACT treatment, particularly Day 1 Cycle 1 patients.
  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing evaluation of oncology patients.
  • Independently prescribe within your scope of practice and order appropriate investigations to support patient care.
  • Manage acutely unwell oncology patients, escalating concerns appropriately and working closely with consultants and the wider MDT.
  • Lead and champion best practice in the safe administration of SACT across inpatient and day unit services.
  • Act as an expert clinical resource for nursing colleagues, providing mentorship, supervision, and support.
  • Deliver education, competency assessments, and training programmes to nursing teams, including SACT competency development and UKONS passport standards.
  • Support clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and service development projects.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to develop and embed policies, protocols, and pathways that enhance patient safety and care quality.
  • Be a visible clinical leader who promotes continuous improvement, evidence-based practice, and outstanding patient care.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
