About Us
No More Waste Technologies is a purpose-driven startup building SaveGoodFood, a digital platform tackling food waste and food poverty by connecting surplus food from restaurants and supermarkets to consumers and charities.
We are currently preparing for MVP launch and fundraising, with a growing multidisciplinary team across product, engineering, finance, and operations. At this stage, we are building not just a product, but the core systems and infrastructure that will support scale.
The Role
We are looking for a Systems Accountant who can take ownership of designing and building our financial systems architecture from the ground up.
This is not a traditional accounting role. It sits at the intersection of finance, systems, and data, working closely with our software development team to ensure financial data flows seamlessly across the platform.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our ERP, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes are automated, scalable, and investor-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- ERP & Financial Systems Development
- Lead the design and implementation of a custom ERP / finance system
- Define how financial data integrates across the platform (orders, payments, commissions, subscriptions)
- Work closely with developers to translate financial requirements into system logic and workflows
- Ensure scalability, automation, and data integrity from day one
- Financial Reconciliation & Data Integrity
- Build robust end-to-end reconciliation processes (transactions, payouts, commissions, fees)
- Ensure alignment between:
- Platform transactions
- Payment systems
- Financial reports
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Automation & Process Design
- Replace manual processes with automated workflows
- Design real-time or near real-time reporting structures
- Ensure finance processes are efficient, repeatable, and scalable
- Financial Reporting Infrastructure
- Build the backbone for:
- Profit & Loss
- Cash flow
- Balance sheet
- Ensure reports are dynamically fed from system data (not manual inputs)
- Support investor-ready reporting and dashboards
- Build the backbone for:
- Controls & Governance
- Establish early-stage financial controls and audit trails
- Ensure compliance-ready systems as the business scales
- Support future due diligence processes
- Collaboration with Product & Engineering
- Act as the bridge between finance and tech
- Translate accounting requirements into system features
- Contribute to product decisions where financial logic is critical

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
