Finance Systems Analyst – Technology & Automation
London | Permanent
Are you an accountant or finance professional who enjoys technology more than traditional accounting? We are a growing financial services business looking for an ambitious Systems Analyst to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2–3 years' experience in accounting, audit or a finance environment who wants to move away from a traditional finance career and build their future in technology, automation and business transformation. You’ll use your understanding of finance and accounting alongside Microsoft Azure, Python and automation to build practical solutions, improve processes and help transform the way the business operates.
What you'll be doing
- Working with finance and operational teams to identify inefficient or manual processes and develop better technology-driven solutions
- Designing and developing applications and automations that improve efficiency and support business growth
- Building and deploying solutions using Microsoft Azure
- Using Python or similar programming languages to create practical business solutions
- Translating finance and operational requirements into effective technical solutions
- Maintaining, supporting and enhancing existing applications as well as developing new ones
- Introducing appropriate controls, documentation, development standards and governance
- Taking ownership of projects from identifying a problem through to implementing the solution

What we're looking for
- Ideally degree educated in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, IT or a related discipline
- Around 2–3 years' practical finance experience, potentially within management accounting, financial accounting or audit
- A good working understanding of accounting and financial processes
- A genuine desire to transition from traditional finance into technology, automation and transformation
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including building and deploying solutions
- Programming capability, ideally Python
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- The confidence to work directly with business users and understand their requirements
- Curious, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
- Able to thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly
