Role Description
The Systems and Data Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Nottingham, with a combination of on-site work at NCVS and some working from home. The role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining organisational systems, databases, and digital tools that support NCVS services and operations. Day-to-day tasks include managing data collection and reporting processes, ensuring data quality and compliance, and producing insights to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact to stakeholders and funders. The post holder will coordinate system improvements, liaise with external providers where necessary, and support colleagues to use systems effectively through guidance, documentation, and training. The role also includes contributing to project planning, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, and supporting the organisation’s broader digital and information governance practices.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in data management and analysis, including experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Competence in systems administration and digital tools, with the ability to oversee configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of organisational systems.
- Ability to develop and improve processes for data collection, storage, and reporting, with attention to accuracy, data protection, and compliance.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical colleagues and produce accessible reports.
- Organisational and time management skills, with experience prioritising workload, meeting deadlines, and supporting multiple projects.
- Experience providing user support and training, including creating guidance materials and building confidence in the use of systems.
- Understanding of information governance, data security, and relevant legislation or good practice standards.
- Experience working in or with the voluntary, community, or non-profit sector is advantageous, as is familiarity with impact measurement and monitoring frameworks.
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in information management, data analysis, IT, or a related field.
