Hotels Systems Application Manager – Opera & Mews
About the Role
Criterion Hospitality is looking for an experienced Hotels Systems Application Manager to take technical and operational ownership of our core hospitality systems, with a focus on Opera and Mews.
Working across IT, hotel operations, and management teams, you will ensure our systems are reliable, efficient, and continually improving. A key part of the role will be maximising the potential of Opera and Mews to improve both staff and guest experiences across our hotel portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and support Opera and Mews across multiple hotel sites.
- Configure and tailor systems to suit operational requirements.
- Deliver upgrades, migrations, installations, and system changes.
- Manage interfaces, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Work with Oracle on Opera changes and technical requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and system usage.
- Work closely with hotel teams to ensure technology supports effective Front and Back of House operations.

What We’re Looking For
- Strong technical knowledge of Opera 5.6 and Opera Cloud, including migrations, moves, and installations.
- Strong technical and operational experience with Mews.
- Experience improving and optimising Opera and Mews environments.
- Experience integrating additional systems through APIs and interfaces.
- A strong hospitality background with practical knowledge of FOH and BOH operations.
- Confidence working with IT teams, hotel managers, suppliers, and operational stakeholders.
