Our mission is to empower Finance with trusted insights and intelligent automation that improve decision-making, strengthen control, and drive efficient, sustainable performance.

Role Overview
As a Systems Data & Change Senior Consultant, you'll join a team of automation specialists and data professionals focused on simplifying processes, reducing manual effort, and enabling better decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, you'll help deliver innovative solutions that create real business value while ensuring robust controls and governance are maintained.
You will be one of a small number of lead developers with a small team of junior developers reporting into you.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.
Work Arrangement
At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Swindon site approximately once per month. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
