About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Systems & Data Manager to join HMC at an exciting time in our digital transformation journey.
At HMC, we're committed to making effective, secure and innovative use of data and technology to support our members, colleagues and strategic ambitions. Our systems and data sit at the heart of everything we do—from member engagement and professional learning to governance, communications and organisational decision-making.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer, this is a pivotal organisation-wide role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. As our Systems & Data Manager, you'll lead the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of our CRM, business systems and data management, ensuring our information is accurate, secure, accessible and used to its full potential.
Acting as HMC's subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and our Member Portal, you'll work collaboratively with colleagues across every department to improve reporting, streamline processes, introduce automation and champion the effective use of technology. You'll help shape the future of our digital systems, supporting smarter ways of working through Microsoft 365, the Power Platform and emerging AI technologies.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technology, data and people to solve problems, improve organisational performance and influence positive change. You'll be equally comfortable analysing data, leading systems improvements, managing external suppliers and helping colleagues build the confidence to make better use of the tools and information available to them.
If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely shape the way an organisation uses data and technology while making a meaningful contribution to one of the world's leading educational membership organisations, we'd love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
