About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Developer to join our Member Services team at Brightwell. This pivotal role involves the configuration, support, and ongoing development of the IntelliPen Pensions Administration platform, a core system that underpins our operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Senior System Development Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, third-party partners, and stakeholders to enhance system capabilities, implement innovative solutions, and ensure the platform aligns with business needs and compliance standards.
The Senior Systems Developer will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting system integrations, and ensuring high-quality releases. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient professional to contribute to a forward-thinking organization that values innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supporting and developing defined benefit pensions administration systems, with proven experience in delivering technology enhancements that improve operational efficiency and member outcomes. Essential qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with extensive hands-on experience in system configuration, development, and support within a pensions or financial services environment.

- Advanced SQL skills are required, including the ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex queries.
- Familiarity with IntelliPen or similar pension administration platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a disciplined approach to change management, requirements gathering, testing, and deployment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for influencing stakeholders and providing technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and enhancement of IntelliPen platform functionalities, including workflows, reporting, document generation, member portals, calculations, and system integrations.
- Provide expert technical support to development teams and operational staff, resolving day-to-day incidents and complex system issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal change management and project teams, as well as third-party partners, to deliver system improvements that enhance the overall member experience.
- Work alongside the QA Lead to define and execute testing strategies, ensuring the reliability and quality of system releases.
- Partner with the Senior Service & Support Administrator and Development Manager to plan development roadmaps, manage sprint activities, and support a continuous delivery environment.
- Produce and analyze development reports to demonstrate the impact and value of enhancements across the platform, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ensure all development activities comply with regulatory standards and governance requirements, maintaining system integrity and security.
- Take ownership of solution design and implementation, providing technical mentorship to colleagues and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
