We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a world-leading automotive manufacturer at their cutting-edge engineering facilities in Gaydon. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the integration of advanced Vehicle Health Management (VHM) technologies, diagnostics, and Over-the-Air (OTA) software update capabilities within the manufacturing environment.
As the critical interface between the Vehicle Health Management Engineering Team and the Manufacturing Plant, you will ensure that innovative connected vehicle technologies are seamlessly incorporated into production processes without impacting operational efficiency.
This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of automotive digitalisation, helping to deliver smarter, more connected vehicles to customers worldwide.
The Role
As a Systems Engineer (Manufacturing VHM), you will be responsible for translating manufacturing and operational requirements into robust technical system specifications, ensuring successful deployment of diagnostics and OTA software update solutions on the production line.
You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, software development, quality, and programme teams to ensure system requirements are clearly defined, managed, and delivered.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between Vehicle Health Management engineering teams and manufacturing operations.
- Gather, analyse, and translate manufacturing plant requirements into detailed system and functional requirements.
- Define and manage requirements throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Support the integration of vehicle diagnostics and OTA software update capabilities into factory production processes.
- Ensure technical solutions align with manufacturing objectives, quality standards, and operational efficiency targets.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive issue resolution and risk mitigation activities relating to VHM deployment within manufacturing environments.
- Support validation, verification, and system acceptance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production readiness and vehicle connectivity capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering within automotive.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles, methodologies, and processes.
- Proven experience in Requirements Management, including elicitation, analysis, traceability, and validation.
- Excellent Stakeholder Management skills with the ability to influence and engage across multiple business functions.
- Experience working within complex, multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of automotive Diagnostics systems and processes.
- Experience with Connected Vehicle, Connectivity, or IoT technologies.
- Understanding of Over-the-Air (OTA) software update implementations.
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and production line integration activities.
- Exposure to Vehicle Health Management (VHM) systems.
