Systems Engineer

We have partnered with a well-renowned global investment manager that has built a reputation for combining strong investment performance with a highly sophisticated technology environment. Technology is treated as a core function rather than a back-office service, with engineers given meaningful ownership and exposure to business-critical platforms.

They are now looking to hire a Systems Engineer into the London team, offering the chance to join a high-calibre environment with broad technical exposure, strong internal investment in technology and genuine scope to take ownership of increasingly complex infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning and improving infrastructure across Linux, cloud and user-facing systems
  • Automating systems and operational workflows using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Troubleshooting complex issues across servers, endpoints, cloud services and internal platforms
  • Delivering infrastructure projects from design through to implementation
  • Working closely with senior engineers and users across the investment business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why This Role

The attraction here is breadth, ownership and technical quality. You’ll be working in an environment where infrastructure engineering genuinely matters to the business, where strong engineers are trusted with real responsibility, and where you are not boxed into one technology or support function. For someone who wants to move closer to a high-performance investment environment and accelerate their exposure across cloud, systems and automation, this is an unusually strong opportunity.

If the idea of working in a fast-paced environment with genuine hands-on ownership from day one appeals to you, either apply directly or send your CV to zaakir.khan@mondrian-alpha.com.
