Systems Engineer

Pre-Sales Systems Engineer

About the Role

The Pre-Sales Systems Engineer is responsible for driving the technical strategy and execution across the sales cycle, supporting revenue growth, customer success, and solution adoption. This role requires a highly skilled technical expert with a strong background in cybersecurity or enterprise technology and a passion for solving complex problems.

The ideal candidate will combine:

To position Forescout as the trusted partner in securing digital environments by aligning customer needs with Forescout’s capabilities, enabling sales success and fostering long-term customer value.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Technical Strategy

  • Educate customers and partners on Forescout’s modern security capabilities and the evolving threat landscape.
  • Build deep, consultative relationships, becoming a trusted advisor who aligns Forescout’s solutions with the customer’s business and technical objectives.
  • Identify security challenges in customer environments and engage across technical and management stakeholders.
  • Present Forescout’s value proposition, product roadmap, and strategy confidently to audiences ranging from engineers to executives.

Sales & Enablement Support

  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations, both virtually and in-person, in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Support technical pre-sales activities, identifying and qualifying new opportunities through to closure.
  • Enable and collaborate with channel partners within a channel-centric sales model.
  • Manage proof-of-concept (POC) activities, including:
    • Test plan optimisation
    • Configuration adjustments
    • Resolving issues during evaluation
  • Assist with POC environment and configuration development, aligning with account team goals and resource availability.

Customer Success & Technical Execution

  • Support customers through technical escalations, acting as a bridge between sales, support, and engineering teams to ensure successful resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure seamless experiences during technical engagements.

Certification & Ongoing Learning

  • Achieve and maintain FSCA (Forescout Certified Architect) and FSCE (Forescout Certified Expert) certifications in designated technology areas.
  • Stay actively current with the 4D Platform (Forescout’s core technology) through ongoing training and enablement.

Requirements & Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • 8+ years in the IT industry, with 5+ years in a pre-sales or technical consulting role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cybersecurity solutions.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Passion for cybersecurity solutions and enthusiasm for hands-on testing and customer engagement.
  • Strong technical skills, presentation abilities, and written communication expertise.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams in a global environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, with a drive to deliver high-quality results.
  • Experience translating requirements into best-practice solutions that enhance user experiences.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Willingness to take initiative, multitask effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience required.
