Senior IT Support Engineer
Vacancy with a Companies Head office based in the City of London. Travel to group offices and sites - £40,000 to £50,000 + £4,000 car allowance | Permanent | Five days on site
The head office of group of four companies, with a dozen offices and project sites across England, is looking for a senior engineer who owns infrastructure rather than escalating it.
This is second and third line with genuine infrastructure ownership, not a service desk seat. First line sits with a managed service partner.
The IT team is three people supporting around 270 users, so the work is broad. Tickets one day, a site network build the next.
You'll work alongside the existing Senior IT Support Engineer, not beneath him.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
