Systems Integration Lead
We are seeking a Systems Integration Lead to lead the integration of complex multidisciplinary systems into a coherent, verified, and operational capability. Working across hardware, software, firmware, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines, you will ensure interfaces are understood, risks are managed, and integrated solutions meet performance, safety, compliance, and stakeholder requirements.
Partnering closely with Chief Engineers, Systems Engineers, Project Managers, and Verification & Validation teams, you'll drive integration activities throughout the engineering lifecycle, from system build and commissioning through to trials and customer acceptance.
This role combines:
Integration leadership & coordination – planning and executing integration strategies, schedules, build activities, and readiness events across complex engineering programmes
Interface & configuration management – ensuring technical interfaces are defined, controlled, verified, and managed through disciplined engineering governance
Technical assurance & problem solving – identifying integration risks, leading defect resolution, supporting root cause investigations, and assuring system readiness for verification, trials, and deployment
You'll play a key role in turning individual subsystems into a reliable operational capability. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working across engineering disciplines, and leading successful integration outcomes in demanding environments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you will be doing:
- Own system integration planning and execution – develop integration strategies, plans, schedules, build sequences, integration events, resource plans, and readiness criteria across the engineering lifecycle
- Lead multidisciplinary integration activities – coordinate systems, software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, test, production, and support teams to deliver integrated system capability
- Drive readiness, verification, and assurance – lead readiness reviews, technical risk assessments, and integration activities that generate objective evidence against requirements, interface definitions, and acceptance criteria
- Manage technical risks and issue resolution in integration – identify and mitigate integration risks, dependencies, blockers, and design maturity concerns whilst leading defect investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities
Who you are:
- An experienced integration or systems engineering professional with a proven track record of delivering complex multidisciplinary systems involving hardware and software components
- Strong in systems engineering and integration disciplines, with a solid understanding of requirements, architecture, interface management, integration, verification, validation, and acceptance processes
- A capable technical leader and coordinator who can influence engineers across multiple disciplines and align internal teams, suppliers, customers, and delivery partners around integration priorities
- A structured and evidence-driven problem solver with experience investigating defects, conducting root cause analysis, managing corrective actions, and resolving complex technical issues
- Comfortable working within rigorous engineering environments, applying configuration management, change control, technical governance, and assurance processes to maintain system integrity
- An effective communicator and decision maker who can balance technical risk, delivery priorities, safety considerations, and customer outcomes while providing clarity in complex and ambiguous situations
