Systems Integration & Trials Engineer
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience
Working model: Predominantly onsite, 4-5 days per week
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship
I’m working with a leading defence technology organisation looking for a Systems Integration & Trials Engineer to join an expanding engineering team working on complex defence systems. This is a broad systems engineering role covering integration, verification and proving activities across laboratory and operational environments, with opportunities to support trials both in the UK and internationally.
The role
You’ll work alongside systems and design engineers to plan and deliver proving activities, ensuring systems are properly integrated, tested and supported through to acceptance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and carrying out systems integration, verification and proving activities
- Preparing technical documentation and supporting trials readiness reviews
- Working with engineering teams to establish appropriate test data and evidence
- Supporting laboratory, ground and operational trials
- Analysing trial results and producing technical reports
- Investigating technical issues and working with design teams to identify solutions
- Liaising with suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders
- Supporting hardware and software configuration control
- Contributing to laboratory management, safety and asset management activities
- Travelling within the UK and overseas when required to support trials

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be useful:
- Systems integration
- Engineering trials or proving
- Systems verification and validation
- Defence or complex engineering systems
- System assessment and acceptance
- Interface engineering
- Electronic, electrical or mechanical integration and test
- Network integration
- Design verification

You’ll need to be comfortable working across different engineering disciplines and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including suppliers and external partners. Experience with MBSE tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody or RTC would be beneficial, as would programming experience, particularly Python.
