Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Lead to take ownership of our Integrated Safety and Environmental Management Systems across our shipbuilding and ship repair operations.

This is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining, developing and continually improving our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations and industry best practice.

Operating within a complex engineering environment that supports both commercial and defence programmes, you will act as the subject matter expert for management systems governance, compliance assurance, auditing and continuous improvement. You will also provide guidance and leadership to the Systems Coordinator, helping drive excellence across the wider HSEQ function.

Key Responsibilities

Management Systems Leadership

  • Lead the maintenance, development and continual improvement of the organisation's ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, customer expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, policies and operational controls.
  • Support and facilitate Management Review processes, providing performance reporting, trend analysis and improvement recommendations.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, standards and industry best practice, ensuring management systems remain current and effective.
  • Provide expert guidance to operational and project teams on management system requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
