Systems Management Accountant | £47000-£49500 | Children's Charity | Permanent | Hybrid - London
Altum are partnered with a children's charity undergoing finance transformation in recruiting for a Systems Management Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to combine management accounting with hands-on systems work, playing a key role in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the adoption of new ways of working.
Working closely with the Finance and Finance Systems teams, the Finance Transformation Lead and budget holders, you will support financial planning and decision-making across the organisation. Alongside providing accurate reporting and meaningful analysis, you will help improve the systems and processes that underpin effective financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Building trusted relationships with budget holders and stakeholders, providing financial insight and constructive challenge to support effective decision-making
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting and variance analysis, helping budget holders understand financial performance
- Partnering with colleagues on budgeting, forecasting, business cases and financial modelling
- Maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with financial procedures and supporting effective management of financial risks
- Supporting the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including testing, data migration and ongoing development
- Helping ensure system processes, reporting and data structures continue to meet the organisation's needs
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance systems and processes, strengthening reporting, data quality, efficiency and user experience
- Supporting the adoption of new systems and ways of working across the organisation.

Person Specification
- A part-qualified accountant working towards a CCAB qualification, or qualified by experience
- A strong understanding of management accounting principles, budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience of working with cloud-based ERP finance systems and supporting implementations or systems improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial and operational data into meaningful insight
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, alongside a good understanding of finance processes and organisational coding structures
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Commercially astute, with sound judgement and the ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining close attention to detail
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and help develop better ways of working.
