Role Description
The Systems Manager role at KRL is a full-time, on-site position based in Birmingham. The Systems Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of core IT systems that support logistics, freight, warehousing, and distribution activities.

- Managing system administration tasks
- Monitoring system performance
- Ensuring data integrity
- Coordinating updates and upgrades with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Diagnosing and resolving system issues
- Providing technical support to users
- Implementing best practices for security and compliance
- Contributing to process improvements aligned with KRL’s operational goals
The role also involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are reliable, efficient, and responsive to business needs.
Qualifications
- Strong System Administration skills, with experience managing servers, applications, and user access.
- Solid Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to identify, analyze, and resolve system and user issues.
- Robust Information Technology knowledge, including network fundamentals, security principles, and enterprise software environments.
- Strong Analytical Skills to interpret system data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field are beneficial.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar operational environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders are important.
- Experience with system security, data protection practices, and compliance standards is beneficial.
