Systems Accountant / FP&A

Edward Mann are recruiting on behalf of a growing and forward-thinking organisation that is looking to appoint a Systems Accountant / FP&A.

This is a varied role sitting at the intersection of finance, systems and FP&A, ideal for someone who enjoys working with data and technology while still having a strong understanding of financial processes and commercial performance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the use of the organisation's ERP and finance systems, while supporting FP&A activities, reporting and wider finance transformation initiatives.

The Role

  • Take ownership of and support the ongoing development of the organisation's ERP and finance systems
  • Work closely with Finance and wider business teams to improve processes, controls and system functionality
  • Support the implementation, optimisation and enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools
  • Assist with the development of FP&A reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards and management reporting
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement
  • Support system upgrades, testing, integrations and process improvements
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data across systems
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective system solutions
  • Provide training and guidance to finance users where required
  • Support month-end, year-end and wider financial reporting processes
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency across the finance function

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong blend of accounting knowledge, systems experience and analytical capability. You may currently be working as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, Management Accountant, FP&A Analyst or in a similar position where you have developed a strong understanding of both finance and technology.

You'll ideally have:

  • A strong understanding of accounting and financial processes
  • Experience implementing and data-mapping an ERP or finance system
  • Experience automating, supporting or improving finance systems and processes
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Exposure to FP&A, budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience producing financial and management reporting
  • A naturally analytical and process-driven approach
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • An interest in automation, systems optimisation and finance transformation
