Systems Support Officer

Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. The Role

We are now looking for a Systems Support Officer to join us on a part-time, permanent basis, working 20 hours per week.

As our Systems Support Officer, you will support, develop and improve the ICT systems used across our Regulatory Services.

Specifically, you will manage and support systems, including IDOX Uniform, Exacom and related applications, assisting users and co-ordinating updates, upgrades and new implementations.

You will also identify and implement improvements to systems and processes, using third-party software applications to analyse data, monitor performance and support informed decision-making.

Additionally, you will:

  • Train staff and third-party users on relevant systems
  • Prepare and maintain systems procedure manuals
  • Produce system access and audit reports
  • Support business cases for new systems and ICT equipment
  • Monitor third-party providers against service and quality standards
  • Collate data for benchmarking and Government Returns
  • Keep ICT system supervisors updated on system developments and changes

About You

To be considered as a Systems Support Officer, you will need:

  • Experience in technical administration, project management, auditing or ICT
  • A proven track record of delivering plans or projects
  • Specialist knowledge of Idox Uniform or similar applications
  • Knowledge of current issues and innovation within ICT
  • A basic knowledge of planning, licensing and other Directorate functions
  • An understanding of the functions of Local Government organisations, including the different roles of Officers and Members
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
  • The ability to analyse and interpret a range of data, including complex information
  • The ability to negotiate and develop positive solutions with a variety of stakeholders
  • The ability to effectively manage resources, including people and budgets
