Systems & Test Engineer

Location: Cheshire / North West England
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + Excellent Benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Company

Hays Engineering are supporting a leading engineering and technology business that delivers highly regulated, safety-critical solutions for customers operating in challenging environments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Systems & Test Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a complex engineering environment, working across the full product life cycle from requirements definition through to verification and validation.

The Role

As a Systems & Test Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, integration and testing of engineered products and systems. Working closely with design, project and manufacturing teams, you will help ensure products meet customer, regulatory and performance requirements. The position offers a varied workload, combining systems engineering activities with hands-on testing and validation work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and management of system requirements and specifications.
  • Assist in the creation of verification and validation plans.
  • Develop and execute product and system test procedures.
  • Conduct functional, environmental and performance testing.
  • Analyse test results and produce technical reports.
  • Investigate test failures and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Project Engineers throughout the development process.
  • Support design reviews and engineering change activities.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and testing methods.

About You

We are interested in speaking with engineers who possess:

  • Degree or HND/HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience within a testing, systems, development or product engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Experience producing technical reports and test documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
