About The Role
As a Systems Test Engineer, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of software releases across Domino and Lake Image products. You'll be responsible for software testing, defect identification, release validation, and supporting the growth of automated testing. Working closely with developers and test engineers, you will take ownership of testing activities within the Lake Image team while collaborating with the wider Domino Visionaries team to deliver high-quality solutions.
This is a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover position, expected to start in November 2026.
The role can be based at either our Cambridge or Tring offices or undertaken remotely within the UK. Occasional visits to site will be required to access test equipment and collaborate with colleagues.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in delivering quality software, and is comfortable working independently while collaborating as part of a wider team. You will be a proactive and detail-oriented tester with a passion for identifying issues, improving processes, and helping deliver robust solutions to customers.
You Will Bring
- Experience in software testing, quality assurance, and defect management.
- Proficiency with Jira or similar issue and project tracking tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- A structured, detail-oriented approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality software.

Desirable:
- Experience with test automation tools, particularly TestComplete.
- Python scripting skills.
- Knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), including Jira/Cucumber.
- Experience using Git version control.
- Experience working with machine vision, inspection systems, or industrial software products.
