What You'll Be Doing

As the Talent Acquisition Manager for Pharmacy and Opticians, you will lead a proactive recruitment strategy that ensures Boots has access to diverse, high-quality talent across our complex healthcare and stores businesses.

This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for leading and developing a team of 11 Talent Acquisition Partners, driving recruitment delivery whilst shaping the future of how we attract, recruit and retain our Pharmacy and Opticians talent.

You will translate business priorities and workforce demand into effective hiring plans, build strong partnerships across the business and use insight and data to identify opportunities, manage talent risks and deliver sustainable recruitment solutions. This could be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager looking for their next challenge, a Pharmacist who has successfully led a team or store, or an experienced Store Leader looking to broaden their career into Talent Acquisition and workforce strategy. What matters most is your ability to lead people, influence stakeholders and turn business needs into great talent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the healthcare recruitment strategy, translating workforce data into proactive hiring plans.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of 11 Talent Acquisition Partners, creating a high-performing, accountable and collaborative team culture.
  • Anticipate talent risks and skills gaps, creating practical mitigation plans to support business and workforce needs.
  • Build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders to influence hiring decisions and shape workforce plans.
  • Drive recruitment delivery across Pharmacy and Opticians, balancing immediate hiring requirements with longer-term talent strategy.
  • Drive direct sourcing and talent relationship management to engage passive candidates and build sustainable talent pipelines.
  • Use labour-market intelligence and recruitment insight to shape targeted attraction and recruitment actions.
  • Partner with Recruitment Marketing to create inclusive campaigns that enhance our employer proposition.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve recruitment processes, making it easier for our stores, candidates and hiring managers.
  • Use data and insight to measure performance, identify trends and continuously improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Ensure a simple, engaging and inclusive end-to-end candidate journey.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
