Winchester City Council is recruiting one external specialist to join Tenants and Council Together (TACT), our tenant-led scrutiny and assurance board.
TACT members do more than share views. They examine evidence, ask thoughtful questions, challenge us constructively and help turn tenants’ experiences into meaningful improvements.
The opportunity
Role
Independent Board member
Allowance
£1,200 a year, paid quarterly
Commitment
- Four Board meetings
- Four workshops
- Two half-day stock tours each year
Location
Winchester City Council offices, with hybrid access when needed
Term
Three years, with an option to renew for a further two years

What you’ll bring
- Independent challenge and objective scrutiny
- Relevant professional, governance, scrutiny or assurance experience
- The ability to test performance, risk and improvement information
- Knowledge in areas such as housing regulation, building safety, asset management, customer experience, equality, risk, finance or transformation
- Integrity, sound judgement and a collaborative critical-friend approach
- A strong commitment to better outcomes for tenants and leaseholders

We want TACT to reflect a wider range of perspectives.
