Tactical Data Links (TDLs) Specialist
Looking for someone with demonstrable hands-on experience with Tactical Data Links (TDLs), specifically Link 16.
Proven experience operating tactical gateways, including the ability to configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and demonstrate systems in customer environments.
Strong customer-facing and stakeholder communication skills.
Eligibility for SC clearance as a minimum, with a willingness to undergo DV clearance in the future if required.
UK Nationality and UK based.
Flexibility to travel across the UK and to European locations on a regular basis, approximately every other week.

We're looking for individuals who can quickly integrate into the team, engage effectively with customers, and provide practical expertise in TDL and gateway operations.
Core technical knowledge
- Link 16 / TDL-J
- NATO STANAG 5516 / ATDLP-5.16
- U.S. MIL-STD-6016
- J-series tactical messages
- PPLI, air/surface/land tracks, EW and weapons-coordination messages
- JTIDS and MIDS terminals
- UHF communications, TDMA and frequency-hopping networks
- Network initialization and mission-data loads
- Time synchronization and Link 16 network planning

Integration skills
- Integrating Link 16 with C2, combat-management and mission systems
- Sensor and track-data integration
- Data fusion and common operational picture systems
- Gateways between Link 16, Link 11, Link 22, VMF and other TDLs
- JREAP, including JREAP-C over IP networks
- TCP/UDP, multicast and secure-network interfaces
- Avionics and embedded-system interfaces
Software skills
- C/C++, Ada or Java
- Real-time and embedded software
- Binary protocol implementation
Daily rate
up to 1000 GBP
