Role Description
This is a Freelance, on-site Tailor / Seamstress role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Seamstress will be responsible for constructing, altering, and repairing garments, including dresses, corsets, and skirts. Daily tasks include taking accurate measurements, performing fittings, and ensuring all work meets quality and design standards. The role involves using industrial and domestic sewing equipment, pressing and finishing garments, and maintaining an organized workspace. The Tailor / Seamstress will also engage with clients and is expected to perform in a professional manner, manage timelines for customs and alterations, and collaborate with the team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

- Candidates should possess strong Tailoring and Dressmaking skills, including garment construction, alterations, and finishing.
- Candidates should possess solid Fitting skills, including accurate measuring, pattern adjustments, and personalized fit consultations.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service and Communication skills to support client interactions and ensure clear expectations.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail, manual dexterity, and proficiency with sewing machines, pressing equipment, and basic hand-finishing techniques.
- Relevant qualifications such as vocational training or certification in tailoring, fashion design, or garment technology are beneficial.
- Experience working in a bespoke, bridal, formalwear, or high-end alteration environment is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple orders, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative workshop setting.
