Talent Acquisition Consultant

Company: Albany Beck
Location: London (Hybrid) – 3 days p/w in Cannon Street
Client Industry: Financial Services

About Albany Beck

Albany Beck is a fast-growing consultancy partnering with some of the world’s leading Financial Services organisations. With a team of 300+ people, we deliver specialist expertise across Technology, Change & Transformation, Cyber Security, Data, Regulatory Compliance and Business Operations, helping our clients deliver some of their most important programmes of work.

We have ambitious plans for the next stage of Albany Beck’s growth and, as our client base and the work we deliver continues to expand, we’re looking for another brilliant person to join our Talent Acquisition team.

For us, this hire is much more about the person than the CV. You might already have 2–4 years of experience within Talent Acquisition or recruitment. You might have some experience but still be relatively early in your career. Or you might have no Talent Acquisition experience whatsoever and simply be looking for the right opportunity to start your career. What matters most to us is your attitude, work ethic, communication skills, resilience and willingness to learn.

Role Overview

Talent Acquisition at Albany Beck sits right at the heart of our ability to deliver for our clients. When one of our Client Account Partners identifies a requirement with a client, your job is to understand exactly what they need and then work out how and where we’re going to find the right person. Sometimes you'll join the initial client or Account Partner briefing call. Other times, you'll take a detailed brief directly from the Account Partner before going out to market.

From there, it’s about being resourceful, that could mean searching our existing networks and internal referrals, building Boolean searches, using job boards, conducting targeted searches through LinkedIn Recruiter, creating job adverts or proactively approaching people who aren't actively looking for a new opportunity. Once you've found the right people, you'll speak with them, understand their experience and motivations, represent the opportunity and Albany Beck properly, and then support them throughout the interview and offer process. It’s not about following the same recruitment process every time. It’s about understanding the requirement, knowing what good looks like and finding the best possible person – quickly and to a high standard.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with our Client Account Partners to understand new client requirements and exactly what we need to find.
  • Joining briefing calls where appropriate to hear requirements first-hand and ask the right questions.
  • Researching markets and identifying where the strongest potential candidates are likely to be.
  • Creating and running Boolean searches across job boards and candidate databases.
  • Using LinkedIn Recruiter to identify and proactively approach relevant people.
  • Utilising our existing networks, internal referrals and previous relationships to uncover great candidates.
  • Writing and posting job adverts designed to attract the right people.
  • Speaking with potential candidates to understand their experience, motivations and suitability for an opportunity.
  • Presenting opportunities clearly and representing Albany Beck and our clients professionally.
  • Preparing candidates for interviews and supporting them throughout the interview journey.
  • Managing communication, feedback and offer processes to keep things moving quickly.
  • Building your own network and developing deeper knowledge of the markets and disciplines you work within.
  • Managing several live requirements and priorities at once while maintaining a high standard of delivery.

Key Skills and Experience

You could have zero experience in Talent Acquisition or recruitment, or you could have 2–4 years of experience and be looking for an environment where you can take on more responsibility and progress.

We're much more interested in whether you:

  • Have a strong work ethic and are prepared to put the effort in.
  • Are ambitious and genuinely want to build a career.
  • Are confident speaking to different people and can build relationships quickly.

Have the mentality to keep searching, trying different approaches and solving problems rather than giving up when the obvious answer isn't there. Previous Talent Acquisition experience is welcomed, but it absolutely isn't essential.

The Environment

This is an important part!! Albany Beck is fast-paced.

We’re growing quickly, we have significant expansion plans and we work with clients who expect us to deliver. That means you'll be working alongside ambitious, hungry and demanding people who care about doing things properly and getting things done.

People will expect a lot from you – but they'll also support you, recognise good work and appreciate it when you deliver.

There will be days when priorities change quickly. A new requirement might land that needs immediate attention. You might have several different searches running at once. You might have to change your approach because the first search hasn't found the right person. We don't expect someone joining with no experience to know how to do all of that immediately. We'll teach you. What we do expect is for you to bring the right attitude: to ask questions, take feedback onboard, work hard, stay positive, take ownership and keep pushing until the job is done.
