Plain – Talent Lead

About Plain

Plain is redefining customer support for the next generation of B2B companies. We’re building the fastest, most powerful platform to help companies move beyond reactive support and build true customer relationships.

Some of the world’s most forward-thinking companies—like Cursor, Vercel, and Granola—trust Plain to:

  • Unify all customer interactions
  • Enable faster team collaboration
  • Supercharge workflows with AI

The Shift in B2B Customer Support

B2B customer support is undergoing a seismic change. AI is transforming engagement, shifting support from a siloed function to a company-wide effort across Slack, Discord, and other channels where customers communicate. The old, slow, manual, and disconnected approach no longer works.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Talent Lead to build the teams that define this next phase of support tooling.

⚠️ This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week based in our London office.

What You’ll Do

This is a builder role in talent—you’re not unboxing a ready-made function, but shaping it from scratch.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Own end-to-end engineering hiring—pipeline design, sourcing process, candidate experience, and closing.
  • Build scalable hiring systems and tooling to support rapid growth.
  • Work closely with engineering leaders to keep standards high as the company evolves.

плойиновская миссия звучит так: "We’re a place people graduate from". Inner culture includes:

  • Engineers who meet founding teams at Plain.
  • Leavers recruiting their ex-teammates into new ventures.
  • Real friendships built across roles and levels.
  • A team of caliber—so well-regarded that "Plain" dominates recruiters' sourcing lists.

You’re the role that drives this mission forward.

Who This Role fits Best Suits

This opportunity thrives if you:

✔ Have strong opinions on what "great hiring" looks like and firm conviction that values over pace. ✔ Own full-cycle recruiting for:

  • Product engineering
  • ML/AI
  • Infrastructure
  • (And beyond—expect a challenge) …while maintaining exceptionally high bars.

✔ Spot talent—engineers that move fast with AI but still think critically without it.

✔ Build highly effective pipelines through:

  • A referral flywheel
  • Strong employer value proposition
  • Outbound motion execution
  • (Smart combo of both)

✔ Passionate about process and tooling as much as candidate engagement. You design scalable, high-quality systems above hunch-based hires.

✔ Run multiple searches in parallel—without sacrificing quality.

✔ Fully partner with engineering leadership—this is genuine collaboration, not operations-led hiring.

✔ Help beyond pure tech hiring: Talent Ops People Ops GTM hiring

Who This Role Doesn’t Fit

❌ If you reduce hiring as a purely quantitative game: Better to wait for the right engineer than rush into a bad hire.

❌ Want a mature talent function to integrate: We’re building infrastructure here—excited by that process?

❌ Uncomfortable working closely with engineers: Requires direct engineering buy-in, not just execution only.

❌ Prefer delegating screening or pipeline work: Hands-on ownership—no handing off responsibilities.
