About The Opportunity

Be Part of Something Meaningful

TES is looking for a proactive and people-focused Talent Acquisition Partner to join our People & Culture team supporting the recruitment of safety-critical roles across the UK. This is a varied role combining hands-on talent acquisition with workforce planning, onboarding, retention and inclusive employment pathways. You will work closely with hiring managers, colleagues and external partners to build strong specialist talent pipelines and deliver a fair, professional candidate experience from first contact through to a successful start.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced in-house recruiter who is passionate about talent management and understands the demands of recruiting safety-critical personnel within a compliance-driven and heavily regulated industry. You will enjoy building relationships, improving processes and helping people access meaningful careers while ensuring recruitment activity consistently meets organisational, legal and rail-industry requirements.

What Will You Do?

  • You will manage national recruitment campaigns for safety-critical and other specialist roles from vacancy brief through to offer and onboarding.
  • Acting as an internal recruitment partner, you’ll create inclusive adverts, proactively source candidates and advise hiring managers on fair selection, workforce priorities and compliance requirements.
  • You’ll take ownership of candidate activity within our in-house applicant tracking system, and coordinating pre-employment, right-to-work and role-specific compliance checks.
  • Success will be measured through timely vacancy delivery, quality of hire, candidate and hiring-manager experience, compliance standards, pipeline strength, accurate system data and progress against agreed recruitment and social value objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
