Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

THE TEAM

This is a newly created role, reporting to the Head of HR, taking ownership of recruitment across the Avalon Group. While talent acquisition will be your primary responsibility, we are a small collaborative team, and everyone pitches in. You will therefore also have opportunities to support colleagues with wider HR activities and projects.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Own the end-to-end recruitment process in the Avalon Group, managing multiple vacancies across a broad range of functions and seniority levels.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand requirements, refine briefs, and agree on effective recruitment strategies.
  • Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, industry networks, referrals, job boards, and other channels, building talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Screen and assess candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage the offer process, ensuring a positive, compliant, and professional candidate experience.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Avalon’s businesses, roles, and the talent needed to support them.
  • Own the effective day-to-day use of JazzHR, ensuring recruitment activity and candidate data are accurately recorded and managed through the ATS.
  • Build trusted relationships with hiring managers and coach them on recruitment best practice, including job briefs, interviewing, and objective candidate assessment.
  • Support employer brand and talent attraction initiatives, including developing relationships with relevant industry organisations, networks, and universities.
  • Help develop creative approaches to attract a diverse range of talent and strengthen Avalon’s recruitment pipelines.
  • Assist Head of HR with salary and benefits benchmarking, making the Avalon Group a competitive place to work.
  • Monitor recruitment metrics and provide insights on time-to-hire, candidate sources, and hiring practices.
  • Contribute to wider HR projects and activities as required and be willing to step outside your immediate area of responsibility when the needs of the business require it.
