The ideal candidate will possess a relevant educational background, such as a degree in housing, social sciences, business administration, or a related field. Proven experience in property management, community development, or housing services is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively are essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to engage with residents, partners, and team members. Familiarity with housing legislation, health and safety regulations, and relevant software systems will be considered advantageous. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset coupled with a commitment to diversity and inclusion aligns with the values of Teign Housing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of housing services, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Engage with residents to understand their needs, address concerns, and foster a sense of community.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Oversee tenancy management processes, including allocations, renewals, and disposals.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, partners, and contractors to support community development initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and motivate team members, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to organizational growth and innovation efforts.
