Talent Acquisition Specialist – 6 month FTC

Bristol | Hybrid working | Cogito Talent

Are you an experienced recruiter who enjoys running end-to-end recruitment projects, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering a great candidate experience?

At Cogito, we partner with organisations to help them attract, engage and hire the people they need to grow. We combine recruitment expertise, market insight and a consultative approach to deliver talent acquisition solutions across RPO, talent mapping, employer brand, leadership hiring and project-based recruitment.

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Bristol-based team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants variety, ownership and the chance to work across different client projects, supporting customers with high-quality recruitment delivery and proactive talent engagement.

The role

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will lead recruitment projects on behalf of Cogito clients, managing candidates and stakeholders through the full process from briefing and attraction through to screening, interview coordination, offer management and candidate feedback.

You’ll play a key role in sourcing, attracting and engaging candidates, while ensuring each project is delivered efficiently, accurately and with a strong focus on service quality. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across delivery, analytics and project teams to support recruitment reporting, talent pipelines and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Manage clients and candidates through the full recruitment process, from pre-screen to offer.
  • Lead recruitment delivery across the projects you are responsible for.
  • Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders and manage expectations in line with project deliverables.
  • Lead client briefing calls, ensuring you and the wider project team fully understand the role requirements.
  • Undertake search, sourcing and candidate mapping activity to identify and engage suitable talent.
  • Market roles to potential candidates and promote opportunities in a compelling and professional way.
  • Conduct pre-screen telephone calls, assessing candidates against the agreed role brief.
  • Present shortlisted candidates to clients with confidence, credibility and clear rationale.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews and support a smooth recruitment process for all parties.
  • Manage candidate feedback, offers and declines professionally, helping to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Negotiate packages and manage stakeholders through the offer stage.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across recruitment systems and third-party platforms.
  • Lead wider project teams where required, proactively addressing issues as they arise.
  • Maintain engagement with talent pipelines to support a proactive recruitment approach.
  • Work with the Analytics team to prepare recruitment reports and support candidate surveys.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
