Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location: London (Head Office)
Reporting to: Head of Talent Acquisition
Department: People & Culture

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Talent Acquisition team and help us attract the very best engineering talent across the built environment sector.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Attraction

  • Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies to attract engineering talent across the UK.
  • Proactively identify and engage passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, industry networks, and referrals.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Conduct market mapping exercises to identify talent pools and emerging market trends.
  • Support employer branding initiatives to increase Smart Managed Solutions' visibility within the engineering community.
  • Attend industry networking events, careers fairs, and recruitment events where appropriate.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and operational leaders.
  • Act as a trusted recruitment partner, providing market insights and talent intelligence.
  • Understand current and future workforce requirements across engineering and technical functions.
  • Drive a "right first time" hiring approach through effective candidate identification and qualification.

Candidate Engagement

  • Conduct initial screening conversations and candidate assessments.
  • Present high-quality shortlisted candidates against role requirements.
  • Ensure an outstanding candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Build meaningful relationships with candidates to create long-term talent communities.

Recruitment Excellence

  • Maintain accurate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Track sourcing activity and recruitment metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Talent Acquisition function.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and recruitment best practice.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in agency recruitment, internal recruitment, talent acquisition, or sourcing role.
  • Proven success sourcing engineering or technical professionals within the built environment, facilities management, building services, construction, or critical environments sectors.
  • Strong LinkedIn Recruiter and direct sourcing experience.
  • Experience building talent pipelines for niche and difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience recruiting within facilities management, data centres, or critical environments.
  • Knowledge of the engineering talent market across the UK.
  • Understanding of employer branding and talent attraction strategies.
  • Experience using recruitment CRM and ATS systems.
