As a key link between the Buildings business and our centralised Sourcing Team, you’ll bring together business knowledge, market insight and recruitment expertise to ensure our attraction and sourcing activity is targeted, effective and aligned to what the business needs.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being more than a recruiter someone who wants to understand the business they support, influence hiring decisions and make a visible contribution to how Stantec attracts and grows its talent.

Your Impact

Talent Acquisition Partnership

  • Act as a dedicated Talent Acquisition partner to the UK Buildings business, developing trusted relationships with hiring managers and leadership teams.
  • Build a strong understanding of business priorities, workforce requirements, growth plans and future talent needs.
  • Lead effective recruitment briefings and intake meetings, using your knowledge of the market to advise on talent availability, salary expectations, competitor activity and recruitment trends.
  • Develop tailored recruitment strategies for individual vacancies, teams and areas of growth, balancing direct sourcing, internal talent, referrals and external channels.
  • Provide constructive challenge and informed recruitment advice to hiring managers, helping to ensure expectations and recruitment strategies reflect the realities of the market.
  • Champion inclusive attraction and selection practices, supporting Stantec’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Development

  • Work closely with the centralised Sourcing Team to identify, engage and attract talent across key Buildings disciplines.
  • Provide strong business and role context to ensure sourcing campaigns are focused, targeted and aligned to hiring priorities.
  • Jointly build and manage high-quality talent pipelines across disciplines including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Fire Engineering, Project Management and other specialist technical areas.
  • Lead and support targeted direct sourcing activity through LinkedIn, talent mapping, networking, referrals and engagement with passive candidates.
  • Develop sustainable talent pools that support both immediate recruitment requirements and longer-term business growth.
  • Promote internal mobility and employee referrals as important routes to talent, maximising direct recruitment opportunities.
  • Manage agency relationships in line with Stantec’s Preferred Supplier List and recruitment processes, ensuring external agencies are used strategically and where appropriate.

Recruitment Delivery & Candidate Experience

  • Manage recruitment activity from initial briefing through to offer and onboarding, ensuring vacancies progress efficiently and stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Deliver a professional, engaging and inclusive candidate experience, maintaining clear communication and timely updates throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Support hiring managers with effective assessment and selection approaches, including competency-based interviewing and consistent evaluation against agreed criteria.
  • Ensure recruitment activity is accurately recorded and managed through the Applicant Tracking System, including Eploy, from vacancy approval through to appointment.
  • Coordinate key recruitment activity including approvals, interview scheduling, feedback and offer management.
  • Ensure recruitment activity meets Stantec’s policies and processes, UK Right to Work requirements, GDPR and other relevant legislative and governance requirements.
  • Use recruitment data, market intelligence and pipeline insight to identify trends, measure progress and improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve attraction strategies, sourcing effectiveness, candidate experience and recruitment processes across UK Buildings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
