We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People & Culture team and play a key role in attracting and securing the talent we need to support our continued growth.
About The Role
This is a hands-on role for a recruiter who enjoys working closely with hiring managers, finding great people and building creative approaches to talent attraction. You’ll manage end-to-end recruitment, from understanding the brief and sourcing candidates through to offer and onboarding, while also helping shape how SYOS attracts talent in a competitive market.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage recruitment across a range of business functions and levels, from briefing through to offer and onboarding.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand current and future hiring needs.
- Provide market insight, salary benchmarking and recruitment advice to support effective hiring decisions.
- Facilitate interviews, assessments and selection processes.
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies for specialist and hard-to-fill roles.
- Identify and engage talent through LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, referrals and direct search.
- Help strengthen the SYOS employer brand across relevant talent markets.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment effectiveness and efficiency.
- Work closely with the New Zealand Talent Acquisition team to share market intelligence, sourcing strategies and best practice.

What We're Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced recruiter who combines strong delivery skills with a genuine passion for Talent Acquisition.
You'll Ideally Bring
- Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment, whether in-house, agency or RPO.
- Experience delivering high-volume recruitment campaigns while maintaining quality.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills and the confidence to influence, challenge and advise hiring managers.
- Demonstrated sourcing capability across LinkedIn, professional networks, job boards and direct search.
- Experience using ATS and recruitment technology.
- Strong focus on candidate experience and strong understanding of candidate attraction, talent mapping and pipeline development.
- Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
- A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to work at pace.
- An interest in using AI, technology and innovative recruitment methods to improve how we hire.

Additional Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
- Ability to work within a defence and security-regulated environment.
