Purpose
Would you like to be a part of a brand new Talent Acquisition function working for our iconic brand? This is an exciting new role in the Twinings’ Talent team with responsibility for recruiting the best Talent for all Twinings’ businesses and functions based in the UK. The role holder will be responsible for working alongside the business units to really understand the recruitment need and then activate a great candidate and hiring manager experience.
Scope
Your Talent Acquisition contribution will cover both the UK & Ireland and International Markets business units, as well as our International Functions: Tea Supply Chain & Andover Supply Centre, HR, Finance, International Marketing & NPD, BizTech and Social Impact. Whilst the majority of the Talent Acquisition will be for UK-based roles, there is the scope to extend your contribution to the overseas locations covered by our International Markets team including India, Nigeria, Brazil, and Italy. In time, if successful, this role has the potential to be expanded to cover roles in our non-UK businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Support in design, set-up, and operation of all aspects of the UK Talent Acquisition approach for R.Twining & Co including, but not limited to:
- Designing the processes & systems required
- Agreeing KPIs and metrics for success
- Creating flexible assessment & selection methodologies
- Developing employer brand and candidate experience including comms - Ensuring our inclusion principles are brought to life through our recruitment approach
- Partnering with Business Unit and Functional HR Leads to meet their talent acquisition needs individually, rather than as ‘a one size fits all’ approach
- Building strong talent pools for the relevant Business Units and Functions
- Delivering the employer brand through various candidate communications including verbal, job descriptions and online platforms
- Planning and execution of recruitment campaigns to target the best and relevant talent in the market
- Advises on assessment and selection design for individual campaigns, including psychometrics and aptitude assessments
- Owns the candidate management and recruitment cycle of all roles
- Works closely with the internal teams to identify internal talent for vacant roles
- Supports hiring manager recruiting capability in the business units and functions
- Champions our diversity agenda
- Creates talent insight reports including talent mapping and labour heat maps, talent pooling and great diverse shortlists
- Forms relationships with universities and colleges as a source of early career talent
- Provides regular reporting against KPIs and metrics (financial and non-financial) about the performance of the Talent Acquisition function

Person Profile
A seasoned TA specialist, working in a recruitment function in a complex and devolved organisation. You will be a hands-on recruiter who is excited by searching for and securing talent. A natural networker, you work through influence and great relationships. Your expertise, gravitas and interpersonal skills allow you to build strong and trusting relationships with all your stakeholders and candidates.
You like to work at pace, be results-oriented, comfortable with taking accountability and working with ambiguity, always striving for the highest quality outcomes. You will be able to cut through to light, smart solutions and avoid bureaucracy. A background combining both blue chip and smaller, more entrepreneurial working environments would be ideal. You will have a passion for both a great candidate and hiring manager journey.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong experience as a Talent Acquisition specialist along with specific experience in candidate management, sourcing, and talent pooling
- Experienced in recruitment process definition and implementation, and ongoing process improvement
- Experienced in the use of the platforms, systems, and software behind effective Talent Acquisition approaches
- Awareness of current best practices in Talent Acquisition including using digital technologies to the best effect
- Track record of managing stakeholders effectively
- Comfortable working in an environment of change and ambiguity
- Experienced in coaching hiring managers on the recruitment process
- Experience within FMCG is desirable but not essential
- Robust knowledge and innovative expertise with experience of both inhouse and out-sourced (recruitment partner) models
- Comfortable with a high degree of accountability with high visibility of personal contribution
- A continuous learner, willing to explore, learn and grow both yourself and the service you offer
- Happy to work on the detail and delivery as well as the design and creation
