Care Concern Group is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. As our organisation continues to expand, we are investing in a new group-wide Learning & Development function that will strengthen our leadership capability, support meaningful career progression and help our colleagues fulfil their potential.
The Talent, Capability & Development Manager is a newly created and influential role, offering the opportunity to help shape this approach from the outset.
Reporting to our Head of Learning & Development, you will lead the development of the frameworks, programmes and pathways that underpin colleague capability, leadership development and career progression across the organisation.
From transforming induction and creating clear career pathways to developing future leaders and strengthening succession planning, your work will have a visible and lasting impact on our colleagues, our care homes and the quality of care we provide.
The Role
Let’s be open; this is not a role where you will inherit a finished framework and simply keep it running. There is a great deal to build, improve and embed. This is precisely what makes the opportunity so exciting.
- You will help transform our group-wide induction and onboarding experience, creating structured journeys that give new colleagues the right support throughout their first 30, 60 and 90 days.
- You will define what great performance looks like by developing practical competency frameworks for operational and leadership roles.
- You will also create leadership pathways from Team Leader through to Regional Director, establish more structured approaches to talent and succession planning, and introduce effective coaching and mentoring frameworks.
- Working alongside the Work-Based Learning & Qualifications Manager, you will develop meaningful career pathways across care, nursing and leadership, connecting progression opportunities with relevant qualifications and workplace development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
