Talent Consultant

We have an opportunity to join our Talent Management team as Talent Consultant.

This role will play a key role in shaping how we identify, develop and move talent across Nationwide. You’ll help deliver inclusive, data-led talent activity that strengthens succession pipelines, supports internal mobility and enables colleagues to grow their careers in line with the needs of the organisation.

The Talent Management team sits as part of Talent Management & Inclusion in the People Function. We’re responsible for providing inclusive talent management for all career stages enabling those at entry level, right through to those at a senior leadership level, the opportunity to reach their potential. We’re helping the organisation to build a future-ready workforce by creating the processes, insight and interventions that support talent identification, succession planning, career development and inclusive internal mobility.

As a Talent Consultant, you’ll support the delivery of talent and succession management activity. You’ll combine strong HR understanding, stakeholder engagement, data analysis and practical delivery skills to help shape and improve talent processes, deliver career development interventions that create value for colleagues and support the Executive Resourcing team in senior attraction and hiring activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
