Talent, Development & Performance Lead

Equans is looking for a Talent, Development & Performance Lead to join our team on a Fixed Term Contract basis for 12 months. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, and can be based anywhere within the UK. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The Talent, Development & Performance Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping the future talent landscape across the UK Business Unit. Responsible for developing and embedding a forward-thinking talent and performance strategy, this role will drive the attraction, development and retention of critical talent and future leaders. Working closely with senior leadership teams, you'll lead the annual talent review and succession planning process, using data-driven insights to identify opportunities and design impactful talent interventions. With line management responsibility for a Talent & Early Careers Manager and a Talent & DE&I Manager, you'll help create a high-performing, inclusive talent pipeline that supports both current and future business success.

What will you deliver?

Talent & Performance Management

  • Partner with the business to develop, design and embed a talent management strategy, framework, and process
  • Work with senior leaders to ensure that their talent pools are diverse and represent the workforce demographic across all levels
  • Partner with the HR Operations Teams, creating tools to support the Teams in identifying talent across all levels and embedding a performance-led culture
  • In collaboration with EQUANS Group, design, develop and embed Talent processes and programmes that align to the EQUANS Group Talent Agenda and meet the UKBU needs
  • Develop targeted interventions to increase the diversity of the talent pipeline to support the delivery of EQUANS D&I strategy and associated metrics
  • Deliver and present to key stakeholders the outputs of the talent review process
  • Identify and analyse talent needs and work with the broader talent and resourcing teams to link the talent review outputs to the resourcing strategy, talent development programmes, driving their effectiveness, capability enhancement and future growth
  • Identifying key talent to prioritise within our talent development programmes, ensuring the quality and retention of our high potential pools and business critical roles
  • Manage, monitor, and keep engaged key talent pools, understanding their needs, and using feedback to support the continual improvement of interventions and initiatives
  • Support the Early Careers Manager in the delivery of our Early Careers Strategy establishing a talent pipeline to meet current and future needs

Succession Planning

  • Act as a key business partner for succession planning and development plans, providing insight and analysis and coaching leaders in developing succession and development interventions for talent within their areas
  • Work with senior leaders to ensure that their succession plans are diverse and represent the workforce demographic, supporting the delivery of diversity targets
  • Identify and analyse opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness, recommending initiatives that address global, UK and regional market opportunities aligned to business strategy
  • Support the development of functional career paths and development plans for all employees
  • Develop role profiles, skills and competency matrixes for key positions in collaboration with key stakeholders and HR partners
  • Contribute to workforce planning strategies at organisational and divisional levels, working with the resourcing team to deliver impact and anticipate future market trends and skill gaps

Development

  • Identify the talent treatments required for key talent populations
  • Responsible for the overall design and delivery of all talent development programmes, supporting the team with the management of suppliers to ensure the programmes deliver value
  • Act as a key contact for HR and business stakeholders, offering consultative support on talent development options for leaders across divisions and contracts
  • Support the Talent & D&I Manager in identifying and delivering developmental psychometrics and identifying tools that will support line managers with the development of their people

Coaching and Psychometrics

  • Develop a robust development plans for senior high potentials, and manage senior talent pools through supportive career conversations and coaching
  • Conduct individual leadership, career and talent assessments using a variety of tools and psychometrics
  • Deliver coaching sessions where appropriate to meet business needs.

Reporting

  • Deliver the annual talent report to the UK exec, and quarterly management information to divisional SLTs
  • Manage impact data across talent interventions and track talent data to understand the retention and progression of high potentials

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous Talent/L&D/OD experience essential - including previous experience in Talent Management and Early Careers
  • Experience in driving a high performing culture
  • Experience in designing & delivering learning interventions
  • Experience in apprenticeships across varying UK funding pools
  • Ability to communicate and influence at a strategic and commercial level with senior leaders
  • Executive coaching skills with experience in using a range of development approaches to support all learners
  • Level 7 CIPD qualification or relevant experience
  • Chartered Member of CIPD
  • BPS accredited qualification/Insights Accredited or equivalent
  • Coaching Qualifications
