Warehouse Resource Manager
Castleford (On-Site) | 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday | 8am-5pm | 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused Warehouse Resource Manager to join our busy Castleford distribution centre on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of extension and potential permanent opportunities.
This is not a traditional recruitment role. While experience working with temporary workers and recruitment agencies will be highly beneficial, this is a hands-on operational role based within the warehouse. You'll spend your time working closely with our warehouse operatives, leadership teams and agency partners to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
With approximately 40% of our warehouse workforce made up of temporary workers, you'll play a vital role in workforce planning, performance management, onboarding, engagement and talent development, helping to create a safe, productive and high-performing operation while building a pipeline of future permanent talent.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the day-to-day allocation and deployment of temporary workers across warehouse operations to meet business priorities and service levels.
- Acting as the key relationship manager for staffing agencies, ensuring labour requirements, performance expectations and compliance standards are consistently delivered.
- Supporting the onboarding, induction and ongoing development of temporary workers, helping them become productive and engaged members of the team.
- Conducting regular performance reviews, attendance discussions, probation reviews and difficult conversations where required.
- Working closely with Warehouse Managers to forecast labour requirements, manage workforce plans and control temporary labour costs.
- Identifying high-potential temporary workers and supporting the development of a strong temp-to-perm talent pipeline.
- Monitoring performance, attendance, conduct and compliance, taking appropriate action and escalating concerns where necessary.
- Producing workforce insights and reporting on temporary worker performance, hours, costs and resource utilisation.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working within a warehouse, logistics, distribution or operational environment.
- Has previous people management, team leader or supervisory experience and is confident managing performance and conduct conversations.
- Has experience of workforce planning, labour allocation and resource management.
- Can build strong working relationships with operational teams, staffing agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Is highly organised, commercially aware and confident managing labour costs, forecasting and workforce requirements.
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment and being visible on the warehouse floor.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with temporary labour providers or recruitment agencies.
- Experience managing a contingent or temporary workforce.
- Knowledge of warehouse health & safety, compliance and site security processes.
- Experience identifying and developing talent for permanent opportunities.
