I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The role spans two distinct phases. Through the pre-launch period the emphasis is on building relationships across the sport and securing rider and owner buy-in. From the 2027 launch onwards the emphasis shifts to providing best-in-class care for those stakeholders across the season; and to building a full-service in-house concierge function.
This is a relationship-led role with a high volume of direct contact.
Key Responsibilities will include:
-
Rider, owner and groom relationships
- Act as the PJL's first point of contact for riders, horse owners, team owners and grooms, responding to queries and making sure they are properly looked after.
- Build rider and owner buy-in ahead of Series launch, including attending existing events to present the PJL.
- Maintain accurate stakeholder records, contact detail and engagement history across the rider and owner base.
- Work closely with third party concierge service provider.
-
Logistics and travel
- Work with the external concierge provider to ensure riders, owners, horses, grooms and officials have everything they need to travel to, stay at and compete at PJL events — including transport, customs, accommodation and on-site care.
- Co-ordinate with venues and operating partners on stakeholder requirements ahead of each event.
-
Events
- Act as a PJL point person on site during competition, supporting riders, owners and grooms across the event weekend.
- Contribute to post-event summaries, and feed stakeholder experience back into the next event.
