Talent Partner - High-Performance Quantitative Energy Trading Firm
Location: Central London
Employment: Permanent, Full-time
Hawkwood are excited to be partnering with a high-performance energy trading firm operating across global commodities markets. Combining deep trading expertise with proprietary technology and data science, our client operates in some of the world’s most complex and data-intensive markets.
They’re looking for a Talent Partner to join their growing Talent function and play a critical role in building exceptional teams across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves the craft of sourcing and network building. You’ll get stuck into translating briefs into sourcing strategies, mapping specialist markets, and partnering with managers to design teams by uncovering and engaging the best talent on the market. This is a super forward-looking firm with an appetite to invest in new tooling and ways of working, giving you real ownership over how you identify, engage and build networks of exceptional talent.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect to be doing:
- Own top-of-funnel sourcing, proactively identifying, engaging and qualifying outstanding passive talent for live and future hiring needs.
- Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to turn complex briefs into clear search strategies, target profiles and sourcing plans.
- Get creative with sourcing across LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and X-ray searches, talent databases, GitHub, communities, events and referrals.
- Craft personalized outreach and nurture campaigns that cut through the noise and turn passive prospects into engaged candidates.
- Conduct initial screening conversations, qualifying candidates on their motivation, skills and expectations before handing over high-quality shortlists.
- Build long-term talent pools for recurring and hard-to-fill positions, while using sourcing data and metrics to continually refine your approach.
- Get involved with early careers hiring, including campus sourcing and assessment centres.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Proven sourcing experience, either in-house or agency, with experience owning top-of-funnel delivery for specialist or hard-to-fill positions.
- Strong knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and X-ray searching, alongside the creativity to uncover candidates beyond the obvious channels.
- The versatility and curiosity to source across different areas of a business, including highly technical and specialist roles.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to create outreach that actually gets a response.
- An interest in using AI tooling to make sourcing, outreach and screening smarter and more efficient.
- A data-driven mindset, strong stakeholder management skills and the resilience to keep digging when the right candidate is difficult to find.
- Experience within a high-growth or high-performance environment, with exposure to financial services, trading or commodities particularly relevant.
