Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Tandoori Chef role based in Harpenden/Woburn. The Tandoori Chef prepares and cooks tandoori items and other Indian dishes, including marinating meats, seafood, and vegetables, managing the tandoor oven, and ensuring consistent taste and presentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning mise en place, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, coordinating with kitchen staff, and managing cooking times to meet service demands. The role also involves checking ingredient quality, monitoring stock levels, and supporting menu development with new tandoori and grill items. The Tandoori Chef works closely with the head chef or kitchen manager to deliver high-quality meals and provide a positive dining experience for guests.

Qualifications
- Professional experience as a Tandoori Chef or in a similar Indian cuisine role, with strong skills in marination, tandoor operation, and traditional cooking techniques.
- Solid knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and basic culinary best practices, including safe handling, storage, and preparation of meats and other ingredients.
- Ability to manage high-volume service, coordinate with kitchen teams, and maintain consistency in flavor, quality, and presentation under pressure.
- Basic understanding of menu planning, portion control, and cost awareness to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a collaborative attitude, with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Relevant culinary training or certification in professional cookery or hospitality is preferred; prior experience in UK-based restaurants or similar settings is an advantage.
