Tanium Security Consultant

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Overview

This is an opportunity to join a leading Security Professional Services team, delivering enterprise cyber security, endpoint management, and digital resilience programmes across complex and highly regulated customer environments.

We are seeking an experienced Principal-level Tanium Security Consultant to provide hands-on technical delivery and senior consultancy services across the Tanium platform. Working across enterprise, operational technology, and highly secured environments, you will support platform implementations, migrations, optimisation initiatives, vulnerability management programmes, software deployment transformations, and customer enablement activities.

As a Tanium Security Consultant, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, leading technical workstreams, advising customer stakeholders, and taking ownership of the quality and successful delivery of assigned engagements. This role is ideal for a consultant who combines deep Tanium expertise with broad endpoint management and cyber security experience and is comfortable operating across architecture, implementation, troubleshooting, and customer-facing advisory activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, configuration, and optimisation of Tanium Cloud and on-premises environments
  • Assess customer requirements and translate them into secure, scalable, and supportable Tanium solutions
  • Produce high and low-level designs, implementation plans, testing plans, migration documentation, operating procedures, and handover documentation
  • Configure and support Tanium platform capabilities including endpoint onboarding, endpoint communications, computer groups, action groups, content sets, personas, custom tags, and role-based access control
  • Plan and execute Tanium Client deployments across Windows and Linux estates, including remote, segmented, secure, and operational technology environments
  • Configure, implement, and troubleshoot Tanium modules including Asset, Discover, Client Management, Interact, Patch, Deploy, Comply, Risk, Enforce, Performance, Provision, Investigate, Reporting, and Connect
  • Design secure and auditable endpoint targeting, deployment, patching, and remediation processes
  • Develop enterprise patch management strategies including maintenance windows, deployment rings, pilot groups, exception management, and reporting frameworks
  • Support software packaging and application migration initiatives, including transformation of legacy deployment processes into Tanium Deploy packages and bundles
  • Support migrations from endpoint management technologies including Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Ivanti DSM, ManageEngine Endpoint Central, and similar platforms
  • Deliver vulnerability management and security hygiene improvements through compliance monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and outcome reporting
  • Design and implement RBAC models aligned with customer operational and security requirements
  • Integrate Tanium with ServiceNow, CMDB platforms, identity services, reporting solutions, security tooling, and automation platforms
  • Troubleshoot complex issues relating to endpoint connectivity, software deployment, patching, permissions, content distribution, network discovery, and platform health
  • Utilise PowerShell, APIs, and automation techniques to support repeatable deployments, content migration, validation, and reporting activities
  • Conduct workshops, requirements gathering sessions, technical reviews, demonstrations, and customer enablement activities
  • Work closely with consultants, engineers, project managers, service teams, customer stakeholders, and third-party suppliers to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and assurance to less experienced consultants and engineers
  • Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and delivery challenges
  • Support the transition of completed solutions into operational and managed service environments
  • Take ownership of technical workstreams from discovery through to operational handover
  • Demonstrate significant hands-on experience designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting Tanium within complex enterprise environments
  • Possess strong expertise across multiple Tanium modules including Asset, Discover, Patch, Deploy, Comply, Risk, Enforce, Performance, Provision, Investigate, Connect, and Reporting
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of endpoint management, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and enterprise IT operations
  • Experience deploying Tanium across Windows and Linux environments
  • Strong understanding of enterprise patch management, software distribution, and application deployment processes
  • Experience troubleshooting firewall, DNS, proxy, certificate, and segmented network issues
  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles including secure administration, least privilege, compliance, and risk reduction
  • Experience producing customer-facing technical documentation, architectural designs, and implementation artefacts
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working within enterprise environments governed by change management, testing, and compliance controls
  • Hold active SC Clearance
  • Hold current Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) certification
  • Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) certification highly desirable
  • Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) certification advantageous
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, REST APIs, and automation frameworks desirable
  • Experience integrating Tanium with ServiceNow, SIEM, ITSM, CMDB, identity management, and reporting platforms advantageous
  • Knowledge of CIS, NIST, DISA STIG, and related compliance frameworks desirable
  • Experience within Defence, Public Sector, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Operational Technology, or other highly regulated sectors advantageous
