About The Role

This full-time Tank/Vessel Builder role in Newhall involves fabricating, assembling, inspecting, and repairing pressure vessels. The Role

As a Vessel Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, inspection, and repair of pressure vessels, ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with relevant quality and safety standards.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Fabricating vessels to the required dimensions and specifications.
  • Using a variety of fabrication equipment, including guillotines, presses, and welding equipment.
  • Shaping, assembling, and preparing components used within pressure vessel manufacture.
  • Attaching fittings, valves, and accessories in accordance with individual vessel designs.
  • Inspecting completed vessels for defects and ensuring they meet required quality standards.
  • Supporting hydrostatic, dimensional, and visual testing.
  • Identifying defects and carrying out repairs or upgrades to existing vessels.
  • Testing and refining components to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Accurately documenting completed work and materials used.
  • Maintaining fabrication machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Following all relevant health & safety procedures and industry standards.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Vessel Fabricator, Pressure Vessel Fabricator, Fabricator Welder, or within a similar heavy engineering environment.
  • Technical training or qualifications in welding and fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
  • The ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings and plans.
  • A good understanding of relevant industry and safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage workloads effectively and work to deadlines.
